Which then helps the waste to become syngas. This is because the temperature in this reactor gets very hot – usually around 700°C and sometimes up to 850° C! It has to be that hot so it can break down all of those waste materials as well as possible.

After the syngas is created in gasification reactor, it moves to another ( second) reactor called combustion reactors. In turn, we add more oxygen to the syngas at this point. It is this extra oxygen that allows the syngas to burn. Syngas produce a lot of heat when burnt. 4, The steam drives a turbine and generates electricity. A turbine spins and creates electricity, power that we use in our homes or business.
