Hello friends! In this episode, we want to teach you of gasification today because it is again a really cool and important topic. It is an unique process of doing energy in a wise manner. So, what is gasification and why does it matter?
Gasification is the process that turns solids, such as coal and biomass into a gas. This gas can be very useful as it heats our homes, powers electric power plants and even provides some of the chemicals we use every day. Gasification Is Smart, because it can convert waste materials into valuable resources. That's right, days are coming in which even things we pass off as waste can be converted into energy!
Next, biomass discussions. Energy from biomass is called renewable energy. That means it can regenerate naturally by itself. Biomass is, for example, wood from trees or remains of plants on a farm and even rubbish that we usually would throw away. This is good since burning less coal is a good thing (less greenhouse gases etc) so using all of the biomass to offset some fossil fuel seems efficient. Unfortunately, a lot of biomass is enormous and wet and hard to cart about. Well, this is where gasification comes into the equation! The process of gasification converts the solid biomass into a much more easily handled and used gaseous fuel.
Coal Now on to learning about coal. Many years ago, we had a lot of coal for energy. But when we burn coal to produce energy, it can throw dirty smoke into the sky and this is bad for our planet. This can also add to climate change, a problem we are hoping to alleviate. Coal also can be converted into a cleaner-burning gas through the process of coal gasification. Gasification turns coal into a gas that can burn less dirtily than normal old raw-coal. This means that it burns cleaner, leaving behind minimal combustion and harmful pollutants. Not to mention the fact that coal gasification can also produce useful chemicals like fertilizers for plants or plastics in many of our daily goods.
Gasification is an intelligent and renewable technology when producing energy. The Non-renewable fossil fuels can also be conserved by utilizing waste material that is biomass, and coal. Non-renewable fuels can ultimately be depleted and they contribute to pollution. Additionally, gasification can be a solution for eliminating rubbish going to landfills. We should recycle our waste to power the planet instead of throwing it away.
Gasification Is Redefining Coal and Wood. It is opening up new possibilities to generate cleaner and greener energy. By way of gasification technologies we can make energy production cleaner as wells more efficient. This can reduce the effects on our environment, while still providing us with energy.
